The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
水底惊魂
丹尼尔·祖瓦图,邦妮·丹尼森,克里斯·康罗伊,乔尼·奥尔西尼,葛瑞芬·纽曼,Mackenzie Rosman,马克·马戈利斯阳光明媚的日子里，约翰（丹尼尔·佐瓦特 Daniel Zovatto 饰）和凯蒂（邦妮·戴尼森 Bonnie Dennison 饰）、麦特（克里斯·克罗伊 Chris Conroy 饰）、齐克（格里芬·纽曼 Griffin Newman 饰）、西蒙（约翰尼·奥希尼 Jonny Orsini 饰）和黛比（Mackenzie Rosman 饰）等五名好友，驱车来到一个毗邻湖边的僻静所在进行他们毕业前的纪念派对。他们划着小船来到湖中央，曾经有着恐怖记忆的约翰对这片水域颇多忌惮，但是他胆大妄为的伙伴们则竞相跳入水中，享受戏水的快乐时光。谁知好景不长，先是小船遭到猛烈碰撞，接着黛比被一条怪鱼咬伤致死。 年轻人的噩梦由此展开，他们的磨难还未就此结束，嗜血猎手渐次向他们逼近……
德尔苏·乌扎拉
马克西姆·蒙祖克,尤里·索洛明,斯韦特兰娜·丹尼尔琴科这是一部极为出色的关于人与自然的电影。1902年和1907年，沙俄军官阿尔谢尼耶夫两次率领勘探队到乌苏里地区探险，都巧遇赫哲族老猎手德尔苏·乌扎拉。德尔苏.乌扎拉为勘探队充当向导，并挽救了阿尔谢尼耶夫的生命，与之建立了深厚的情谊。德苏对大自然相当了解与尊重，藉由他的示范 与见解，让人们了解大自然的伟大与残酷，人是可以与大自然和平相处，但当大自然被破坏时，人们将是第一个遭殃。德苏是一个神枪手，但后来在一次打猎时，德苏发现自己的眼睛因为身体衰老而退化，看不清猎物了，十分沮丧。他随阿尔谢尼耶夫到大城市伯力居住。但是，城市文明德苏却无法习惯，城市和他过去赖以生存的地方，那片纯朴的自然大地是完全不同的。猎人离开枪，离开了他所熟悉的环境，仿佛鱼儿离开了水。“城里没法狩猎，不狩猎就没有貂”“我突然想念空气。”他象是被囚禁了一般，闷闷不乐。德苏执意回到山里，回到那片密林。但是，猎人没有好的视力，便是最大的悲剧。猎人不能猎杀，自己便被会猎杀。勇敢的德苏虽然带着阿尔谢尼耶夫送给他的新猎枪，但是他却死了……
拍得不错
方中信,周柏豪 ,张兆辉,蔡卓妍,卢海鹏,林雪,李灿森,应采儿,苗侨伟,宣萱由五個單元故事組成的GOOD TAKE，是香港電影新一代導演的創新作品，包括導演曾國祥《水泥》，講述警員9413（周柏豪）前往報案地點查案，最後只留下電話鈴聲卻不見其人，令人毛骨悚然；導演黃智亨的《囍宴》，一個小孩跟著跟爸爸（張兆輝飾）一起前赴媽媽新婚囍宴的故事，童真與成年人的無奈都盡在心頭；導演黃進的《Good Take》，透過甘草演員泰勒(盧海鵬飾)的生活是向資深電影從業員致敬的故事；導演楊龍澄的《不一定》，以型格對比色彩重構暴力血腥鏡頭；導演黃精甫的《嚇鬼》，Charlene（蔡卓妍飾）挑戰鬼屋一夜遊，遇上中國殭屍、長髮貞子和辮子姑娘，過程又驚又笑！五個故事各自有著不同風格及不同戲味！
