燃烧
目标成为作家的青年李钟秀（刘亚仁暂无内容饰），平日里靠兼职养活自己。经营畜牧业的父亲不谙人情，官司缠身，迫使钟秀又要为了搭救父亲而四处奔走。这一日，钟秀在某大型卖场重逢了当年的同学申惠美（全钟淑暂无内容饰）。惠美计划近期前往非洲旅行，于是拜托钟秀照看爱猫Boil。不久后惠美回国，与之一同下飞机的还有名叫本（史蒂文·元暂无内容饰）的男子。本驾驶保时捷，居住在高级公寓内，优哉游哉，不见工作，四处玩乐，和钟秀相比有如天上地下。不知为何，本走入平民钟秀和惠美的生活，更向新朋友讲述了他奇特的癖好。在钟秀家小聚的那个晚上过后，惠美仿佛人间蒸发了一般无影无踪……

Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
