 19世纪热情洋溢的墨西哥小镇，吉普赛女郎叶塞尼亚（杰奎琳·安德瑞 Jacqueline Andere 饰）和伙伴们畅快淋漓歌舞，她高傲聪慧，宛若一株带刺的玫瑰，由于时常遭到白人的歧视，因此叶塞尼亚偶尔会偷钱惩治这帮势力眼，却不知道自己拥有怎样曲折的身世。某天，叶塞尼亚在酒馆算命，结识了自信满满的白人军官奥斯瓦尔多（Jorge Lavat 饰）。一来二去的交往，这对有情男女坠入爱河。爱情的甜蜜与苦涩，令他们饱受折磨。勇敢的奥斯瓦尔多请求吉普赛头人同意他们的结合，在叶塞尼亚外婆的点拨和撮合下，这个狂野女郎最终如愿和奥斯瓦尔多结为夫妇。幸福总是短暂易逝，叶塞尼亚和丈夫迎来了长时间的生离死别，他们的爱情也经历了严峻的考验……

　　莫妮卡有個正值青春期的女兒卡拉，但一天早上卡拉卻因一場奇怪的事件而失蹤，幾個小時後被人發現時已意識不清，醫生更宣告她剩下的時間不多。莫妮卡無法接受自己的女兒已無藥可救，在極度絕望之下，參與了一場暗黑儀式，並跟一名神秘的男人訂下契約，以挽救卡拉的性命。隔天卡拉突然恢復活力，連醫生也無法解釋原因，但莫妮卡的夢魘才正要開始。

　　Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.　　Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory?　　n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.　　What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.　　On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.　　One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.　　Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.

　　结束了德川幕府的统治，明治政府巍然确立。当年叱咤风云的“刽子手”釜田十兵卫（渡边谦 饰），作为幕府余党在荒芜寒冷的北海道过起隐姓埋名的生活。他当年对亡妻许下封印杀人刀的约定，通过劳作养活自己和两个孩子，但残酷的生存环境仍让他感到力不从心。这一日，十兵卫当年的战友马场金吾（柄本明 饰）前来造访。原来附近一座小镇上，美丽的妓女夏目（忽那汐里 饰）被粗暴的女人毁容，但是警察署长大石一藏（佐藤浩市 饰）却包庇纵容。夏目的同伴们凑钱寻找赏金杀手，无奈胆敢来犯的人们均被大石残暴摧折。为了改善孩子们的生活，十兵卫和马场上路，并在路上结识了怀着同一个目标的阿伊努族青年（柳乐优弥 饰）。三人一路同行，等待他们的将是未知的命运……　　本片翻拍自克林特·伊斯特伍德的同名之作。
