　　宇航员雅各布（亚当·桑德勒 Adam Sandler 饰）独自前往太阳系边缘执行科研任务，六个月后，他回到地球发现婚姻已经触礁。而唯一能帮助他挽回妻子兰卡（凯瑞·穆里根 Carey Mulligan 饰）的，竟然是潜伏在飞船内来自时间之初的神秘生物哈努什（保罗·达诺 Paul Dano 配音）。

A brilliant scientist, Dr. Roche, perches high above a stormy sea, inventing a powerful explosive, when he and his assistant are kidnapped by an evil businessman, Artigas. Taken by submarine to Artigas' volcano headquarters, Roche is tricked into developing his experiment for evil intentions. The scientist’s assistant, Simon, struggles all the while to free himself and warn Roche. A magical world of baroque submarines and sailing ships, killer octopus, undersea bicycles dazzles audiences as human actors, puppetry, animation and fanciful scenic design interact to create a cinematic experience that is unique by any standards. Mixing slapstick comedy, action adventure pacing and Mélies style film magic, this little known Czechoslovakian gem transcends the juvenile literature at its source to create cinematic art of the highest order....

　　青年休·麦克艾利斯特（Brandon Kyle Peters 饰）按照未婚妻未婚妻劳瑞·苏利文（Danielle Lilley 饰）的意愿，在远离喧嚣都市的僻静角落买了一座数十款长的大房子。乔迁当日，劳瑞对新房子既满意又惊奇，稍后没多久，马克（Jose Miguel Vasquez 饰）、安柏（Emily Cutting 饰）、肯尼斯（Christopher de Padua 饰）等朋友驱车前来，准备为小两口开一个盛大的乔迁派对。马可他们百无聊赖，四处闲逛，结果强行进入一个无人居住的旧房子。青年男女百无禁忌，四处闲逛，根本不知自己已经惹到了什么。夜幕降临，喜欢热闹的男女们纷纷云集到休的新居，大开狂欢派对。喜欢肯尼斯的女孩独自落寞地再次来到那栋空房子，谁知却被隐藏在这里的恐怖之人残忍杀害。　　那边厢狂欢无度，这边厢血腥杀戮的闸门缓缓开启……

　　帕兹和西蒙是一对夫妇，他们与西蒙的女儿生活在一个小镇上。西蒙是一支女子足球队的教练。一个偶然的机会，西蒙的女儿在踢球时发现有人正在进行宗教仪式。她走近并拿走了一个器物，然而不久之后，女儿神秘失踪了。西蒙和帕兹非常担心女儿的安危，他们四处打听消息，而西蒙尤为焦急。为了找到女儿，帕兹一方面为她祈祷，一方面寻求灵媒的协助。通过与西蒙的接触，灵媒得以看到一些景象：一个男人被两个人杀害，小女孩藏在床底下，倒立的十字架，红色窗帘覆盖在尸体上。　　西蒙听到这些描述感到震惊和恐惧，他急不可耐地与久未联系的母亲取得联系，希望她能帮忙打听消息。帕兹的表哥在警局工作，他虽然知道FBI已经接手此案，但仍愿意协助打听消息。于是，西蒙和表哥一起前往人员繁忙的红灯区。就在他们与负责该区域的警官交谈时，一个妓女认出了西蒙，但叫他罗伯特。西蒙坚称她认错了人，妓女于是在纸巾上写下一行字，邀请他私下交谈。当晚，西蒙前往约定地点，但发现妓女已被杀。
