本片是关于两位法国象征派大诗人魏尔伦和兰波的传记片，内容大多都建立在实在的历史记录基础上。 1871年，17岁的诗人兰波（莱昂纳多 迪卡普里奥 Leonardo DiCaprio 饰）承受其时已是著名诗人魏尔兰（大卫 middot;休里斯 David Thewlis 饰）的约请，去往巴黎。其时魏尔兰现已成婚，老婆家境赋有。但他偏偏对这个恃才傲物，举动奇怪，放浪不羁的兰波，入神不已。他因此而抛下老婆，与兰波流浪到伦敦，同居在了一同，过着放纵不羁又贫困潦倒的日子。在张狂的两年同居日子中，两人互相追逐，互相损伤，纷争不断。1873年，在结尾一次争执中，魏尔兰开枪打伤了兰波拘捕并被判入狱两年。之后兰波一人孤身返乡，四处流浪，阅历冗杂，乃至贩卖军火，结尾37岁时病逝于非洲。

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
