Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 由藤井道人执导并编剧、与馆博二度合作的本片《港之光》，以北陆港口小镇为背景，描绘了前黑道成员“大叔”与因事故失去双亲及视力的少年幸太之间跨越十余年的友情。片中，大叔通过“某种方法”筹措资金使幸太重见光明，但彼时大叔已不在身边。成长为青年的幸太相信着“其实大叔曾是刑警”这个小小谎言，如同追逐给予自己光明的憧憬之人般，成为了刑警。馆博饰演化名三浦的“大叔”，歌舞伎界新星尾上真秀首登银幕出演少年幸太，真荣田乡敦诠释青年幸太。
